3 Elements bidirectional Inverted Vee @ 20 meters band

This antenna was previously tested as relays East / West pattern switch but it is very difficult to operate it during contest and one can loose points and multipliers due to high front to back ratio, so a bidirectional yagi like is needed.

Pros

  • 9.9 dBi at 22 degrees take off angle
  • 0.5 dBi at 5 degrees take off angle
  • 10.5 meters height above the ground
  • Simple wood poles and electric insulated wires

Cons

  • It is not an Yagi
  • Medium to complex Balun construction 17-20 ohms to 50 ohms impedance
  • Requires portable VNA to avoid long coax wrong measuring
